Soleus Cross Country Challenge
Add a little bit of rain and the trail becomes a whole new playground. Soleus Cross Country Challenge was a challenge indeed. It was a challenge on how you’d navigate the muddy and slippery trail. It was a challenge on your courage as you go daredevil mode on the long and steep descent. It was a challenge on your sanity as you endure a very long ascent back to the finish line. It’s tough but we just get tougher with all these challenges!!! Continue reading
Cordillera Mountain Run 2016
Cordillera Mountain Run was a key race for me. It was a beautiful course with the mountains and Agno river enveloped by the clouds. The climb felt endless but the scenic masterpiece around you made the struggle worth it. It’s a character-defining race and I’m glad I was able to dig deep to survive this one. #CordilleraMountainRun #KeepItWild Continue reading
CDO Run for Odyssey
CDO Run for Odyssey came in with a great cause of feeding hungry mouths for the Odyssey Foundation. It also came with a throwback course we enjoyed in the past as we navigated the BGC, Makati and Bayani Road loop. It was a great day for a run and it was great to contribute to a good cause in the process. #CDORunForOdyssey2015 Continue reading
UNICEF Heroes For Children Run
I’m starting to love the shorter distance once again as I opted for another 10K Run at the UNICEF’s Heroes for Children Run. It was Anne Curtis first ever 21K run and all the effort for this run goes to the cause of UNICEF’s 1,000 days campaign. It had the support of about 3,000 runners that included celebrities who even made it to the podium. Cheers to Anne not only for finishing her first half marathon but for also being an active host for the event and the campaign. Continue reading
Pacing 10K at Run United Philippine Marathon
After chasing the longer distances, I was back at 10K distance pacing a faster time of 1:05. While the race was quick, the preparation wasn’t easy as I had to relearn running at a faster pace. 10K is such an intense distance because you can really go all-out on this one and get a really good finish time. Aside from pacing, it was also fun cheering the runners as it was time to #ExceedYourself once again at #RunUnitedPhilippineMarathon Continue reading
Incoming: Run for Odyssey
CDO Run for Odyssey is a run for a cause. The proceeds would go to the Odyssey Foundation, which feeds malnourished and undernourished kids. Running the race help put food to a hungry tummy. Another reason to run is that it’s in BGC. If you’ve been running for more than 3 years, you’d know that BGC has been the main running hub for runners back then and here’s a throwback to those days. Expect a moderately challenging course as you navigate the climbs at Kalayaan Flyover, the long ascent at 5th Avenue and the rolling Lawton and Bayani Road terrain. Run for Odyssey is happening on November 8, 2015 with 5K, 10K and 21K categories to choose from. Register Now!!! Continue reading
Mount Marami Silyang Bato 21K FKT Challenge
Mt. Marami was my craziest adventure to date. It’s not the toughest of mountains but when it rains, expect to get all kids of mud. The mud didn’t only create a slippery trail, it also sticks on your shoes making each step much heavier. It’s a mental challenge as you have to take some time to plot which would be the safest step while taking advantage of the stones, rocks, grass, shrubs, twigs that can be stop your slide. Aside from the awesome view of the summit, we got a memorable story to tell for ages on how we climb and survived Mt. Marami on a rainy day. Continue reading
Takbo.PH Runfest 2015
More than a run, Takbo.PH Runfest is a tradition and a celebration for running. Running has grown by leaps and bounds over the years and Takbo.PH is among the pioneers of running. It has also been a personal tradition for me to be a part of the runfest and enjoy a good run and see familiar faces in the community. Continue reading
Nat Geo Earth Day Run – Baguio #NatGeoRun2015
The memorable races for me are not my Personal Best races but it’s those where I struggle and find a way to finish the race. #NatGeoRun2015 Baguio Leg was a real challenge with Baguio’s natural mountain terrain and high altitude. It was a crawlfest as we’ve made our way to the steep ascent from the bottom of South Drive to the peak of Mines View and it was a mental challenge going back on a long ascending stretch of Loakan Road. It was great to be one among thousands of runners appreciating the climate, getting awed by the view, surpassing the challenge and contributing to the cause of the environment. Continue reading
