The Newton Tribe

Runners, Newton Ambassadors and the Media converged at Runnr BGC last April 13, 2016 in a #TestTheFeel event and the launch of the Newton V.  The push-of-the-toe forefoot lugs technology of Newton just got better. It got its own test run via a short loop in Bonifacio High Street. #NewtonRunning

Test The Feel wearing the Newton Kismet X4

I’ve been part of the Newton Tribe for the past 3 years. It was nice to see that more people got to try out the advantages of Newton shoes.  I remember starting with Newton Gravity in 2013.  It took me a while to get used to the feel but once I got used to it, it has been my go-to running shoes up until now.  The newton technology is just so efficient and makes running feel so natural.  It slowly corrects your running stride to a mid-foot landing then it propels you forward via the added push of the toe from its forefoot lugs.  I’ve probably logged in thousands of miles over the years with newton running shoes.

In a sea of Newton Runners.

This was one unique launch for the Newton V as runners, Newton Ambassadors and the media converged at Runnr BGC last April 13, 2016 to witness the launch of the Newton V.  The event was a mix of testimonials, talks and of course, the run.  We had testimonials from professional athletes including the recent Century Tuna Ironman 70.3 Subic Bay Craig “Crowie” Alexander via video message.  I’d want to share some of the excerpts of Toby Claudio, the President of Runnr and Toby’s.

Toby Claudio on the Newton Brand

He used to hate running before because he had a bad back and a damaged knee.  He got to learn about Newton from a friend, which led him to actually ordering the shoes and eventually meeting the Newton owners.  Slowly, the shoes changed his running form, which made running more comfortable and painless for him allowing him to conquer more distance.  That’s the reason we have Newton today and easily available at Toby’s and Runnr Stores.  Here’s the full video from Pinoyfitness.com.

The talks were followed by the run where Newton Runners got a chance to run a short loop around Bonifacio High Street.  I was wearing the latest Newton Kismet, which is among my favorite shoes in the Newton Line.  The other shoes I use frequently is the Newton Distance, which I love for its lightweight feel .  The Kismet has more support but the Distance is lighter and is an excellent speed shoes.

The run went really fast. A 2-kilometer loop can feel like a breeze when you are powered by the Newton forefoot technology.  Even with just a short run, we ended up soaking in sweat because of the humidity in BGC and the really fast run powered by Newton.  It really helps a lot that the Newton has a lightweight and breathable mesh upper, which gives you a cooler feel on the shoes even on humid nights or warm days.

Running with Newton

It was a short and sweet run with Newton. Running comes so naturally with Newton.  Of course, the star of this event is the latest Newton V and here’s a short recap of the latest in Newton Technology.

What’s your favorite Newton?

What’s your favorite Newton?   The five lugs design matches each of your metatarsal bones giving you a better feel and reaction from the shoes.  There’s so much to love about Newton aside the really efficient forefoot lugs and includes the following:

  • It has a seamless finish, which allows you to go with socks or go sockless, without experiencing blisters.
  • It uses a breathable mesh material for better cooling effect when you run.
  • The New 4-way stretch-mesh metatarsal panel gives your toes more room to move freely.
  • It’s flashy and it has 360 degrees reflectivity for better visibility at night.
  • It gives you full foot cushioning within the lugs and the heel
  • It has an extended medial bridge to add stability on your landings

Newton feels like running on trampolines as it gives you a bouncier and more powerful strides that propels you forward.
