Financial Fitness Run

Investment is a Marathon. The diagram illustrates how the world of investments and running are very similar fields.

Early last year, I was able to interview Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Philippines President April Lynn Lee-Tan, CFA  about CFA, Financial Fitness Run and Investing.  There are a lot of similarities between running, finance and investing so it comes as no surprise that we have the Financial Fitness Run  back again come February 22, 2015 at Bonifacio Global City.  Running and races has grown leaps and bounds over the past few years and we’ve seen how running can send its message in supporting advocacy and causes.  Financial Fitness Run comes with the message of ensuring a better financial futures from having retirement goals and how to save and invest for it.  We all need to be equipped with adequate financial literacy to make better long term decisions.

Financial Fitness Run 2015 theme will be “The Future of Finance Starts with you.  “The “Future of Finance” is a global initiative by the CFA Institute to help shape a better finance and investment industry. The CFA Society Philippines, being one of the member societies of CFA Institute, is taking part in this global effort by informing the investing public about the importance of being financially fit and how to be financially fit, said April Tan, CFA, President of CFA Society Philippines. Runners who will participate in the FFR2015 will learn the key principles and practices on how to achieve a secure retirement and live comfortably.

“We all have dreams, in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.” – Jesse Owens, Olympic gold-medalist runner

Determination, dedication, self discipline and effort yields as the same result in the world of running and finance.  Financial Fitness Run gives us a distance to conquer whether it’s a fast and fun 5 kilometer run, a longer and more challenging 10 kilometer run or a test of will and endurance in a half marathon.  It also gives you a chance to be with friends, family members and the running community in another feel-good run environment.  It also gives you more awareness on your financial future and how you can prepare for it.  It’s time to gear up and join the 2015 Financial Fitness Run.  Financial Fitness Run 2015 is powered by RG Events and supported by COL Financial, Inc., Seaoil Philippines, Inc., Benby Enterprises, Inc. with Soleus Philippines as it’s timing partner.
