The Inaugural Regent 5150 is Happening on June 7, 2015

Regent Foods brings in a lot of fun memories with their leading snacks across the years.  They carry that established brand into the triathlon scene with the inaugural Regent 5150 Triathlon on June 7, 2015. All roads leads to Subic Bay as both local and international triathletes vies for the top honors navigating the 1.5 kilometers swim,  40 kilometers bike and  10 kilometers run in Subic Bay.

Sunrise Events Wilfred Uytengsu discusses what in store at Regent 5150 Triathlon

5150 is a triathlon distance that includes 1.5 kilometers swim, 40 kilometers Bike and 10 kilometers run.  It’s a key race for people who prefer short distance triathlons and a tune up race for those preparing for the Ironman 70.3 in Cebu.  It provides a real challenge and with Sunrise Events at the helm, expect a world-class production setup.  Regent Foods, which is the leading snack manufacturing company in the Philippines would be hosting the 5150 Triathlon to be held in Subic on June 7.  The event would be showcasing top international athletes with Top Aussie Pros Casey Munro, Justin Granger, Clayton Fettel, Belinda Granger and Dimity Lee-Duke and Thai Carole Funcs.  Local Challengers would also be in full force with elite triathletes Banjo Norte, Jenny Rose Guerrero, LC Langit.  Celebrity triathletes Kim Atienza, Matteo Guidecelli, Victor Basa and Onemig Bondoc have also signed to spice up the event.

Sunrise, Regent and Subic Teams up for the Regent 5150 Triathlon

“In our aim to support Filipino’s changing lifestyle and needs, Regent Foods started to focus in promoting a balanced routine through our participation in fun run events.  Over the past years, we have seen triathlon evolve as a fast-growing sport. We are truly proud to be part in supporting the triathlon community with the Regent 5150 event,” said Ricky See, President and CEO of Regent Foods.

The event would be featuring a challenging 1.5 kilometer one-loop, rectangular, clockwise swim at the waters of the Subic Bay Boardwalk, a 40 kilometers point-to-point bike ride to Subic International Airport, heading to IDESS up to Tarlac Road and head back to Transition 2 in Remy Field. The 10 kilometers run will start from Transition 2 in Remy Field and then head to the first turn around Dewey Ave and head back to Remy Field and then go to Rizal Highway entering Argonaut Highway for the second turn around and then back to Remy Fields.

“We commend Regent Foods for joining the ever growing list of backers of this popular three-sport athletic competition.  With the talent-laden international field, we expect world class competition since the event also serves as a fitting tune-up for those competing in the Ironman,” said Wilfred Uytengsu, president of the organizing Sunrise Events Inc, which also handles the Ironmand and the Ironkids and the Safeguard 5150 triathlon.

Meanwhile, the athlete registration, race pack claiming and race vriefing activities will be held on June 5-6 for the two-day event backed by 2Go Express, official courier and logistics partners, Sante Barley, Newton Running, PLDT Subictel, TYR, Coca Cola Femsa, Garmin, David’s Salon, Shotz, Smart, Pioneer Insurance, The PhilippineStar, Multisport Magazine, Intercare, Department of Tourism Promotions Board and venue host Subic Bay.
