Metafitness
Ever felt that your energy level fades on a long run and your stride becomes heavier? Or the level of fatigue and muscle pain you feel when transitioning from bike to the final run in a multisport event? This is where Metafitness comes in which focuses on other aspects like endurance, strength and flexibility in your workout set. The key is going for high intensity workout sets. We do a combination of a core workout and a speed set in a workout wherein you do push ups, sit ups, dead bugs, air squats, planks and finish it off with a 1 kilometer run/sprint and do it all over again. It really stings the next day but I have a deeper source of endurance and strength even when I’m already fatigue in a long run or a multisport event. The key is that when you’re already fatigued, it is your form and your will that carries you so the better your overall fitness level is, the longer you can sustain the proper form. Metafitness is not only for the regular weekend warrior but it’s also for everybody with metabolism slowing down with age, it is by increasing your metafitness level that we can fast track our metabolism. This is one of the reason why Immuvit has introduced the Immuvit Fearless Challenge and now on its second leg, which is a Metafit Race entitled No Excuses.

The first leg had the runners go through a tough trail run in La Mesa Nature Reserve passing through obstacles such as fire jump, mud crawl, log hurdles, military wall, tire hop and climbing a 20 foot mud wall. It was tough but since it was no surrender, the runners held on til they conquered the trail and became proud owners of Immuvit’s finisher medals. Getting to surpass the obstacles was not an easy feat but its extremely satisfying surviving the first Leg.

We now move on to Leg 2 which is a Metafit Race to be held on September 29, 2012, Saturday at Quezon City Circle. So expect to go on sprinting from one Metafit challenges to another such as Burpee Box Jumps, Swipe Push Ups and Big Tire Flips. To add challenge, there would be time limits for each exercise. Immuvit Fearless Challenge No Excuses opens up the Metafit Race both for individual and team category. The team category which can be mixed between male and female participants will be categorized between beginner and advance level. It’s time to challenge your fitness level in a race against time and will to conquer a fresh set of obstacles. Are you up to it? I guess you should since there are definitely NO EXCUSES to try to improve your overall fitness level.
And after the challenge, you get to the bragging right to wear this.
Registration Fees and Venues
- Individual – P500
- Team (5 participants) – P2,000 (all male, all female, mix team of 3 male and 2 female) –
Registration at Fitness and Athletics, Bonifacio Global City, Chris Sports in SM North Annex and Glorietta.
Race Updates
And all the fun begins at on September 29, 6 AM at the Quezon City Circle. Team participants will get their wave number upon check in and team events starts at 7:30 AM.
