It’s more fun to bike in the Philippines and they get to enjoy the streets car-free at BGC Cycle Philippines on November 21-22, 2015. BGC Cycle Philippines is back on its third year and it gives bikers of all ages to promote the cycling lifestyle in the country.

About 2,000 Filipino cyclists will gear up once again for two days of thrilling action as Sunrise Events, Inc. in partnership with Cycle Asia and Bonifacio Global City begins the third edition of BGC Cycle Philippines. BGC Cycle Asia Philippines is happening on November 20-22, 2015 at Bonifacio Global City, is part of Cycle Asia, a network of premier cycling events across the region that offers participants the rare opportunity to ride on safe closed public roads in major Asian Cities.

The event will cater to cyclists of all ages and abilities with the Tricycle Ride, The Kids Ride, The Community Ride (20Km), The Challenge Ride (40Km) and the much awaited ride with Robbie (40km) categories. The ride with Robbie category will allow Filipino riders the chance to ride with the former yellow jersey wearer and three-time Tour de France Green Jersey Sprinters’ Classification winner, Australian Robbie McEwen, who will be here to join the event for the third straight time.

It’s my 3rd visit to the Philippines for the event and I’m looking forward to riding with everyone again on closed roads around BGC & Manila. Prior to the ride events, the entire family will also be kept entertained with a wide range of fun activities in the cycling and Lifestyle Expo at Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila, the official residence of BGC Cycle Philippines in 2015. The fun cycling actions will start in the morning of Saturday, November 21, 2015 via the kiddie ride categories starting with the 30 minutes Junior Challenge ride and followed by the Kid’s Ride and Tricycle Ride categories. This day would be a truly fun bonding experience for the kids and their families. On Sunday, November 22, will be the Adult Ride categories. The event will kick off with the Ride with Robbie with former Australian former PRO cyclist Robbie McEwen and to be followed by the 40km Challenge Ride and the 20km Community and Foldies Community Ride.
“The participation in Cycle Philippines through the years have shown us that cycling is here to stay and that it is going beyond being a hobby and a sport where people are more and more using it as aan alternative modes of transportation to get around the metro. This insight pushed us to implement more bike racks around the city. Furthermore, it also inspired us to experiment with a bike sharing program which will be launched in the future, said Mr. Manuel Blas II, Head of Commercial Operations for Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation.
