When it comes to eyewear, Oakley can go to the extreme from the functional to the fashion friendly and up until to the rare collectible items. #OakleyPHVIP2015 was a showcase as six different collectors got to display their collection of eye wear and accessories last November 26, 2015 at the newly reopened Oakley Bonifacio High Street. It’s a way of looking back at Oakley’s history of innovation, boldness in design and aesthetically pleasant product line that people came to love through the years.

Oakley has been a partner in my fitness journey, bucket list travels and my everyday life. I’ve managed to get a few of their eye-wear over the years and what’s not to love about Oakley. They have the most fashionable lenses in town. They invest in technology and you get to enjoy it’s lightweight features as well as its UV protection when you are out there in the sun. It’s durable for weekend warriors like me. They bring in in elegance and quality in each of their eye-wear. It’s been complementing my active lifestyle for the past 5 to 6 years. Aside from the eye-wear, I also am drawn to their apparels and accessories because of their quality, technology and style.
At the Oakley VIP Event held last November 26, 2015 at the newly reopened Oakley Bonifacio High Street, we got to see people who’s been passionate with the Oakley brand as they showcased their collection that included the rare and high valued Oakley items. Their collection was really impressive!!! It was not only an appreciation for their love of the Oakley brand but also an appreciation of the history of Oakley. Oakley has never been afraid of technology and have introduced new models and the latest innovations in the business. They can have their regular top selling collections and they can also go bold on ideas that can really entice the collector in you.
Oakley’s humble beginnings started in 1975 by James Jannard in 1975 with an initial investment of $300. The name Oakley came from Jannard’s dog, an English Setter. Jannard began by selling what he called ‘The Oakley Grip’ out of the back of his car at motocross events. Although the grips were successful, brand recognition was limited as the grips were usually concealed by the riders’ hands. In 1980, Jannard released a pair of goggles called the O-Frame. With the ‘Oakley’ logo present on the strap, onlookers began to recognize the brand. In 1984, Oakley introduced a pair of sunglasses called the Eyeshade, which were made of plastic and featured removable lenses. Oakley continued to introduce new models of sunglasses, including the Blades, Razor Blades, Frogskins, and the Mumbos, which eventually evolved into the M-Frame series of glasses.

We got to appreciate the different collections and displays and we got to choose our favorites. I really admire all of the collectors for their devotion to the brand. We got a full range to appreciate from the fitness, lifestyle and even their limited line. You just got to appreciate the brand as each piece in the collection is a keeper. I guess that goes for all of Oakley’s product as it balances trends, functionality, quality, technology and design to make it a good investment for its users. Oakley VIP Event was a celebration of Oakley’s rich history with distinguished athletes and personalities also being part of the event. Everybody is a V.I.P. when it comes to customer satisfaction and that’s why people love the Oakley brand.
