Up until the times when I’m old sitting on the porch telling my grand kids stories, one of the epic stories I’d be telling them about would be my first Corregidor International Half Marathon. It’s tough as nails course that had muscle failure written all over it. Despite those setbacks, I managed to finish the race with a decent time.  I’ve since finished the distance 4 times now.  It’s an all-in-one run that has a road run, a mountain run, a beach run and a trail run while passing through historical backdrops like the Malinta Tunnel, Mile Long Barracks, Kindley Fields, the hospital, the lighthouse, numerous ruins and batteries. It’s elevation is one of a kind with sweet descents and really long killer climbs.

The trails is also a part of the course.

The trails is also a part of the course.

Soleus Run Corregidor is back and come Marh 4-5, 2017. Corregidor will be minting new warriors who’s gonna enjoy the challenge that the island has to offer.  March 4, 2017 is the reckoning for the Marathoners and the 15 kilometer Assualt Runners for the Corregidor Marathon. March 5, 2017 will be the showdown with the rock for the half marathoners and 10K runners for Corregidor International Half Marathon.  Any of the distance would be epic. The 15K Assault is making a debut this year and here’s what it’s all about.

As if the challenges of Corregidor is not enough, they have added four unique challenges and it involves the element of Earth, Air, Fire and Water.  That’s packed in the 15 kilometer run that’s also including Corregidor’s natural rolling mountain terrain. Warriors are minted from the challenges they conquer.

There’s still a few days to join in on the epic adventure.  Go for the time tested 10K, Full and Half Marathon distance or take the newest challenge on the block in the 15K Assault.  All of which would lead to a great adventure for you to conquer. Register Now.

The 15k Assault Challenges sounds fun. I remember the first time they started their Run event, they only offer 5k to 42k. CIHM have really grown big with this new challenging variety.

I’m pretty sure you won’t be sitting in the porch telling your grandkids stories, you’ll be running with them, motivating them, in some difficult trail, and easily with a higher energy than your grandkid!!!!

Wow, this is serious. I can only think about going for a 5KM walk, and that’s it.

  4. TheGracefulMist

This seems like fun yet very challenging run considering they added the Earth, Air, Fire and Water challenge. The scenic views of Corregidor would be nice to look at while running.

I can already imagine you doing these marathons with your grandchildren and they’ll be in the blog too! The trail sounds so challenging, but if the scenery is like that, why not!
