Andres Bonifacio was a hero of history who’s braveness and heroism are one of the pillars of the Country’s Independence. On the 30th of November, 2013, we get to celebrate his 150th birthday and what better way to celebrate his life and heroism by reliving his finest moments. Get to live the life of one of the bravest man in the country along with his Katipuneros in a run event that will have you dodging Gwardya Sibils and reliving tasks in history in a 5 kilometer distance. Learning history has never been this fun.
There will also be a category for kids (makulits) as there will be a wave just for them as they go through 1 kilometer of history and do some task that will have them having fun and appreciating the richness of our past.
So let’s revisit our history books and prepare for a valiant battle as the Katipunero in you gets 3 life flags representing life belts which the Gwardya Sibils, scattered along the course will be attempting to take and you also get a chance to try out the following obstacles:
- San Juan–‐ Our guardiya sibil will be armed with water soakers, so get ready to be wet!
- Pinaglabanan–‐ An army of guardiya sibil will be running after your life flags instead of just standing around. Prepare yourself!
- Rizal–‐ Be on the lookout for Jose Rizal! Rizal will be giving away free life flags around. Keep your eyes open!
- Marikina–‐ Climb up our giant inflatable slide and enjoy yourself on the way down! Or crawl inside our tunnels while our guardiya sibil awaits you on the other side.
- Balintawak–‐ Express yourself! Write why you are proud to be a Filipino.
For an overall feel of the Takbonifacio, be in your best Katipunero or Filipiniana costume as you relive history in style. You might end up to with the best katipunero / Filipiniana costume award. Be also the fastest Katipero to reach the finish line and you’ll be timed with a bar code timing system. Everybody get to have Takbonifacio Souvenir Shirt, Red Katipunero Hangkerchief, life flags and loot bags from sponsors.
