Men’s Health Urbanathlon has been creating a challenging race by adding Urban Obstacles to the regular endurance run for 9 years now.  For its 2014 edition, #MHURB2014 shifts to a more challenging and obstacle friendly location in Nuvali, Sta Rosa, Laguna which will be a mix of the fast roads, the long trails and an even more challenging set of Obstacles.  The race is happening on November 16, 2014.”

Men’s Health has been the pioneer when it comes to obstacle races and the Urbanthlon has challenged thousands of runners with a combination of an endurance run and urban obstacles.  Men’s Health Urbanathlon comes in 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers categories with obstacles ranging from scaffolding maze, monkey bars, tire field, container climb, the network, military up and thru, low-lower crawl, modified wall and rope shimmey.  This year’s urbanathlon mixes the fast roads and the long trails of Nuvali.  Nuvali also has a rolling elevation that adds to the challenge of any runs here.

Before I scare you any further, MH Urbanathlon is something YOU can DO.  It’s gonna give you a total workout with your legs doing the run part and the rest of your body getting maximized through the other obstacles.  This is something you can prepare for and in line with this, Men’s Health would be hosting a bootcamp to get everybody Urbanathlon ready.

Men’s Health also came with Exercise Tips to prepare you for the urbanathlon in the September 2014 Issue of Men’s Health Philippines.  The issue gives you several key workouts that would help you conquer the obstacles.  The exercise will not only help you conquer the Urbanathlon but also help you improve your fitness level as the workouts would improve both your cardiovascular endurance and your core strength.  It’s also important to do proper stretching before the race to protect yourself from cramps and other injuries.  For further updates about the event, log on to Facebook.com/menshealthphilippines.

Men’s Health is the perfect why to challenge yourself completely. Whether you are a newbie runner doing the 5 Kilometers distance, or a middle distance runner doing the 10 kilometers or a long distance runner doing the 21 kilometers distance, the obstacles would be a change over the regular runs and a chance to test your overall fitness.  It’s time to register and prepare for the Men’s Health Urbanathlon and once you get to the finishe line, you’ll earn not only a medal but also a the satisfaction that comes in conquering a tough race.
