Incoming: Corregidor Marathon and Corregidor International Half Marathon 2015

Posted by on 9. July 2014

“If you’ve joined the annual Corregidor International Half Marathon or the Corregidor Marathon, you’ll know how epic the experience is but if you haven’t, it’s an experience like no other.  You get to try different surfaces to run on from cemented roads, trails, stony beach, grassy airfields and even stairs.  You get challenged by the terrain and the elevation while getting mesmerized by the scenic natural and historical attraction along the island of Corregidor.”

Read about:

The Rock

3 years of Rocking the Rock!!!

I’ll never get tired of the Rock and it’s been three runs on the island and each run tells a unique story on its own.  It was a valiant stand on my first as I battled 3 cramps to finish the race.  The second one felt like racing against the ghost of the last run in the island.  Then the third felt like a race-cation as it was the first time that I really stopped to take photos and appreciate the island better.  It’s a race that you’d want to tell your grand kids when you’re seated on a rocking chair on a rainy afternoon.  The experience is really like no other.  It can challenge an experienced athlete in surpassing the tough elevation.  It can also be a venue for a recreational runner to just go and enjoy the view. It’s one of your running bucket list you’d love to do over and over again.

Race Route and Elevation Profile of Last Year’s CIHM

Among the things that makes a run in Corregidor legendary is it’s terrain.  Just imagine navigating about 200 meters worth of steep incline during the race. There’s nature with the view of the beach, the forest and the ocean.  Then there’s history in the Malinta Tunnel, Ruins of the Mile Long Barracks and Hospital, the Lighthouse and a lot of batteries and old structures.  Then there’s that eerie feel of an island known for valiance and bravery of the soldiers especially when you get to enter the Malinta Tunnel and the Mile Long Barracks. Then there’s you well taken cared of by Team Corregidor with proper hydration and race goodies along the course.  It’s not the easiest of races but it sure is one of the most satisfying ones once you get to cross the finish line.  Take the best way to be in touch with Philippine History, join the Corregidor International Marathon and the Corregidor Marathon.

El Lobo Run Corregidor

El Lobo Powers Up Run Corregidor

The same drink that powered the Philippine Team to 10 Golds in the Asian Masters Athletics Championships will power Run Corregidor Warriors in their quest to conquer the tough terrain that the rock is known for.  The sweet fruity taste of El Lobo that’s loaded with energy  would definitely renew the energy reserves of the runners in the toughest course in the region.  The traits of the wolf like being brave and strong, clever and noble, social and loyal that El Lobo is associated would help you dig deep and face the challenge that Corregidor has to offer.  Run Strong, Run Corregidor.
