Reaching a mountain’s peak is always satisfying as it rewards all the effort and hard work you’ve invested on a difficult climb.  Mount Marami rewards you with a magnificent 360 degrees view of Cavite, Nasugbu, Batangas and also a sight of Pico De Loro.  It also reserves a throne for you called silyang bato to capture the moment of triumph of conquering the climb with photographers around to take that winning shot.  The full distance would be about 22 kilometers but don’t get scared of the distance as there would be a long stretch of about 16 kilometers of course on a rolling fire trails and dirt tracks with about 3 kilometers climb to the summit and another 3 kilometers of descent.  For those going the full distance think of the first 8 kilometers as a warm up for the 3 kilometer climbs then you can cruise for the next 3 kilometers of descent and go through the motions on the final 8 kilometers. And yes, you do get to pass some rivers along the course.

For those who are just aiming to finish their first trail run, the 8 kilometer and 14 kilometer distance would be perfect for you as you go through a simple rolling terrain with no significant change in trail surface.  The trail is not too technical. The climbs are moderate. The route is simple out and back course with the 8 kilometers distance u-turn point at the trail marker in kilometer 4 while the 14 kilometers distance u-turn is at the Nuestra Senora Dela Paz Grotto/Chapel.  This would be a perfect feel good distance for those who wants to get their baptism of mud on their first or second trail run.

Get Ready For Mud!

Since the trails are still fresh and soft, get ready for mud especially that race day of August 9 is right in the middle of the rainy season.  It’s gonna be a mudfest so this would be part of the challenge and this would also mean that you’ll have a softer surface to traverse.  Aside from the fun in the mud and the scenic delight, you’ll also be able to contribute to a wonderful cause as the proceeds would go to “Mt Marami Mountain Clean Up Drive of Maragondon, Cavite.”  Get ready for a mud run and Register Now!!!
