Century Tuna Brings Ironman 70.3 to Subic

Triathlon has grown significantly over the last few years with continued demand for races and more people getting into multisports.  With the growth of the sport comes a new Half-Ironman destination in Subic Bay.  Century Tuna brings Ironman 70.3 distance to Subic Bay and that’s even closer for multisport athletes in Luzon.  Get ready to Swim 1.9 kilomters, Bike 90 kilometers and Run 21 kilometers at Subic Bay and SCTEX as the inaugural Century Tuna Ironman 70.3 is happening on March 8, 2015.

Century Tuna being an advocate of a healthy body and a healthy lifestyle has always been active in the triathlon scene and they also have one of the toughest triathlon teams in Century Tri-Hard.  Century Tune has also been supporting the Ironman 5150 Triathlon for the past 3 years.  They are taking it into the next level as they are bringing the Ironman 70.3 triathlon event to Subic Bay for the first time on March 8, 2015.  Subic Bay would be an ideal course for triathletes with its scenic views and it’s logistically easier for most triathlete in Luzon area.  Traithlon has been on an upswing with triathlon events happening once or twice a month.  The Philippines is starting to be a hub for triathlon events with the half-ironman distance triathlon, also known as the Ironman 70.3 attracting thousands of participants annually, including delegates from other countries.  Subic Bay would be a perfect destination due to its accessibility and ideal terrain, calm waters and well maintained bike and run routes.  The race would also showcase the beauty of Subic Bay as a tourism hub and also let the triathletes navigate the SCTEX in the bike route.

A fashion show was another highlight of the presscon.

There will be over 20 professionals of various nationalities attending Century Tuna Ironman 70.3 Subic Bay including Ironman World Champion and two-time Ironman 70.3 World Champion Craig Alexander as well as superstars such as Luke Mackenzie and Caroline Steffen.  This would make the event the most competed triathlon race in the country by virtue of the number of professionals at gun start.  The international field of professionals and age groupers serves as a perfect backdrop for the Century Tuna brand as it expands its presence in the world market. Century Tuna is now exported to 48 countries including USA, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Italy and most countries in the Middle East.
